Hello, Ohio Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) members and guests visiting our Site! 

The Ohio ENA is an affiliate of the National ENA.  As such, we embrace the Mission of the National ENA, which is to advocate for patient safety and excellence in emergency nursing practice. 

The Ohio ENA is comprised of approximately 1, 200 nurses from across Ohio.  We are recognized by National ENA as a “three-tier state” meaning that we have not only the National and a State ENA infrastructure, but that Ohio ENA also has regional ENA chapters that exist to support the membership.  Ohio ENA members can and are encouraged to participate in ENA on any and all of these tiers. 

1)      National Tier:  National offices and committees are open to any ENA member.  Contact the National ENA if interested in serving on the National level.  All ENA members have an annual opportunity to participate on the National ENA level by attending the General Assembly and/or Scientific Assembly in the Fall!   

2)      State Tier:  On the state level, the Ohio State Council of the ENA (OSCENA) is the body that oversees State ENA business.  We welcome all Ohio ENA members and their guests to State OSCENA meetings and functions.  Policies and procedures guide the actions of the OSCENA.  All OSCENA Officers and Board members are willing to discuss OSCENA information and updates with interested members and/or potential members.  Information about OSCENA meetings, events, and leadership is included under the tabs on the left. 

3)      Regional/Local Tier:  There are currently ten regional/local chapters in Ohio that encompass ENA members from across the state.  All Ohio ENA Chapters have a page as part of this website that they can use to list announcements, meetings, updates and/or educational offerings as they see fit.  Local chapters are encouraged to post information that can be shared with other Ohio ENA members.  For more information about a Chapter’s webpage and how to access it, contact Ohio ENA President, Nancie Bechtel at nbechtel@goodhealthcolumbus.org or phone (614)255-4407.
