Government Affairs Liaison

The OSCENA Government Affairs Liaison is responsible for advocating the ENA Public Policy Agenda as identified by the national organization and promoting additional positions adopted by OSCENA that are in congruence with the national public policy agenda. This liaison, appointed at the discretion of the OSCENA President, is also responsible to:

• Identify and monitor pending legislation affecting emergency nursing health care and emergency patient needs; bring key issues to the OSCENA Board of Directors and/or General Membership for consideration
• Coordinate OSCENA’s participation in the annual “Nurses Day at the State House” event
• Maintain contact with the national ENA Government Affairs Committee
• Assist Ohio ENA members in drafting letters to legislators in regards to pertinent legislation
• Provide information to the OSCENA webmaster regarding key legislation that requires action on the part of Ohio ENA members around the State
• Mentor OSCENA members who may be the subsequent Government Affairs Liaison
• Complete other duties as requested by the OSCENA Board of Directors
